At the start of the day everything that could go wrong did. I went out for my 3 lap practice and it was all ok, the kart was running well and the engine was happy. Then when I went out to do my first heat I lost power on the formation lap, I had to stop at the marshals post and watch. When we got back to the awning we tried to discover why there was no power. We tried for ages to find the problem. Eventually we found the fault was with the 'fuel'!!! Although the fuel was new something was wrong with it. Once we had replaced the fuel it was too late for for me to take part in the second heat which meant I had now missed two heats. I was finally ready for the last heat starting 18th and finishing 16th ahead of two other novice drivers. This time there was no error it was a good heat and every lap was getting faster and faster. For the final I would be placed last on the grid because I had only done one heat. So from 20th throughout 12 laps of intense racing I finished 15th just behind my mate Matt. At the end of the day it was great to race a kart that performed very well thanks to Chris (DAD) and Graeme. At the start of the weekend i was very excited and nervous. On Saturday it was raining all day which meant we practiced with full wet set up, however I was extreamly happy about the setup of the kart on race day and the boost of power down the straights. Overall I had a fantastic weekend and I am very happy with the final result. The mechanic's Chris and Graeme did a superb job.
Finally the day ended with me winning the BEST JUNOIR NOVICE TROPHY!...On my first race day.
